community.
Mike Bloemker
Since 1998 Mike has been the Head Cross Country and Assistant Track Coach at Johnson County Community College. During his tenure
Mike has coached four national championship teams and seven teams that have finished national runner-up at either the national cross country, half
marathon, or indoor track championships. In his time at JCCC, Mike has coached 202 All Americans and seven individual national champions.
From 1995 to 2003 Bloemker was instrumental in helping numerous Kansas and Missouri high school athletes qualify for and win state titles. In
that time Bloemker coached seven high school girls under 11:00 for two miles, and four high school boys under 9:20 for two miles. Mike holds a
Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and a Masters degree in Education.
Mike has also been the driving force behind many local road races and NJCAA National and Regional Cross Country & Track Meets. Mike
brings thorough knowledge of event management including serving as the Meet Director for the 1998 NJCAA National Cross Country
Championships and the Course Director for the Baptist Triathlon from 1995-2005.
Katherine Bloemker
Katherine graduated from Stanford University with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Katherine handles logo and brochure design,
along with coordination of volunteers, registration and packet pickup. Most importantly Katherine uses her engineering background to accurately
measure race courses. As one of Kansas City's top local female runners, Katherine knows the ins and outs of race management.
